Building on the Let’s Talk About It reading and discussion series, “Modern Times in Maine and America, 1890 – 1930,” this concurrent lecture series will explore how modern women’s roles, interests, pursuits, and expectations were often shaped by their locality – be it an urban or rural Maine setting – and how these women in turn helped to shape or “market” the state of Maine and its image.
