Pamela Belliveau: September 30
Storyteller Pamela Belliveau of Lewiston will present nursery rhymes and tales with appeal for all ages (especially preschoolers) at a free family program at the McArthur Public Library in Biddeford. Librarian Vicky Smith will then speak about the importance of stories, and the role of books and libraries in the art of storytelling. The free event is scheduled for 10-11:30 a.m. This event is part of a new family outreach component of the Born to Read Volunteer Reader Program, undertaken in partnership with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Southern Maine (RSVP). The project is funded as a community service by residents of Hills Beach in Biddeford, Maine.
Ashley Bryan: October 20 & 21
Artist, writer, and storyteller Ashley Bryan returns to Portland on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 5:30 p.m., for a free performance at the Reiche School Auditorium.
