Annie Medeiros joined the staff of the Maine Humanities Council as a program assistant in 2007. She received her BA from the University of New Hampshire, where she studied Women's Studies with an emphasis in Queer Studies. While there, Annie was an active advocate for ending sexual violence and domestic abuse, while also trying to bring support for these issues into the GLBT community. A Connecticut native, Annie spent six years in New Hampshire before moving to Maine and is excited to be in the “Big City" of Portland. Annie is an avid reader. She also enjoys sewing, knitting, painting and an over-all Do-It-Yourself attitude.
