Skill-shares

The Maine Humanities Council is excited to help anyone hosting text-based discussions via Zoom feel at ease building connection, supporting reflection and sharing ideas, and engaging groups with a text online.

We’ve worked with virtual facilitation experts to develop a Zoom-facilitation skill-share that directly addresses needs and concerns that arise in discussions like ours – where participants’ engagement with a text and with each other are vital.

  • Work with MHC to be sure that you have what you need in order to use a platform like Zoom to facilitate a meaningful discussion.
  • Participate in a skill-share that includes an orientation to Zoom and demonstrates a range of ways to build a sense of connection, foster reflection, engage with a text, and invite a meaningful exchange of ideas in a remote gathering.
  • Anyone new to Zoom can join 15 minutes early for extra orientation.
