September 19, 2019 | 6:30pm - 7:30pm | Rockland Public Library

A World in Your Library talk

Dr. Leroy M. Rowe received his Ph.D. in history from the University of Missouri. Professor Rowe’s research and teaching interests focus on the social and political experiences of African Americans during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries with an emphasis on race, gender, and sexuality.

His current book project seeks to document and explain the relationship between black families and state institutions through the lens of the familial and institutional experiences of African American delinquent girls who were committed at the State Industrial Home for Negro Girls at Tipton, Missouri.

World in Your Library
