Ian is responsible for managing the broadcast and delivery of the MHC’s public facing communications, the design of its publications and promotional materials, and the production of its published audio and multimedia content. Working with key members of the Program Team, he ensures the release of programming news and updates through email, social media, print, the MHC website, and news media. A lead member of the Communications Team, he ensures all public facing communications are delivered effectively using consistent branding and written content.
Born and raised in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Ian moved to Maine in 2013 as a Fellow with the Island Institute. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University where he studied Sustainable Development and Appalachian Studies. In his spare time Ian can be found playing the 5-string banjo, listening to records, on the lookout for a good book or film, or exploring the woods, fields, and backroads of western Maine. Ian resides in downtown Norway, Maine.
