Free of charge to Maine's libraries
Discuss issues of local importance in your community with Speaking of Maine, a single-session speaker program that brings experts to your library. We select a roster of speakers with expertise in a variety of local issues (such as education, immigration, jobs, or the environment), and you choose the one that fits your community needs.
Here’s how it works: The libraries involved in Speaking of Maine will each host a single hour-long presentation by an expert on an issue of importance for their community. To ensure that the speakers and topics match the interests of the community, libraries will choose from a listing of topics from highly qualified, Maine-based experts. Successful applicant libraries will receive a stipend to pay for the speaker.
